When your child has been allocated a space a member of our Senior Leadership Team will contact families to arrange dates for starting their journey at Torrance EYC. Please note all government funding for all children will start the term after their third birthday.
At Torrance EYC we offer home visits to support the transition from home to our setting. A member of our Senior Leadership Team and child’s key worker will attend the home visit to give the child familiar faces for entering our environment. The key worker will spend some quality time with your child, starting to develop a positive trusting relationship while SLT will go over all relevant paperwork with families. All paperwork is required to be handed in on the first settling session. At our home visits each child is given their very own Torrance Ted to help them with their transition from home to us.
We invite all families to have a week worth of settling to allow us to settle every child effectively and form positive relationships with them. We advise to start with an hour on their first visit and then gradually build on the time or adapt to meet individual needs of children. This will be discussed and arranged at home visit.
Any further questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
